The story
I learned blue pottery at my father’s wheel in the narrow lanes of Jaipur’s Kot Ranipura, where the smell of cobalt and gum has been part of my family for four generations.
Our craft uses no clay at all — only quartz, powdered glass and multani mitti, fired at a low heat so the glaze stays a living, water-blue. Each piece is painted freehand with motifs of the desert: camels, jaali, and the marigold.
Today I run a small studio with six women from my mohalla. Every plate you see here carried a story before it carried your tea.
